[NCAH] 2025 Journal of the North Carolina Association of Historians is now published

Greetings scholars and colleagues!

This is just a friendly message to inform everyone that the 2025 edition of
the *Journal of the North Carolina Association of Historians* is now
published and available! This year's volume includes 5 peer reviewed
articles:

   - "Before it was Ballpark: A Post Emancipation Community in Alamance
   County, North Carolina" by Dr. Carole Troxler (Elon University)
   - "'Coffeehouses Closed and Grass Grew on the Wharves': Impact of
   Jefferson's Embargo on New York Politics" by Dr. Harvey Strum (Russell Sage
   College)
   - "An Exploration of the N.C. National Guard and the 1929 Loray Mill
   Strike" by Dr. Clark Summers (Belmont Abbey College)
   - "Contesting the Meaning of Drink: Temperance, the Press, and State
   Authority in Ireland, 1730-1850" by Dr. Bradley Kadel (Fayetteville State
   University)
   - "Great Debates on Federal Power: Explaining the Perspectives of
   Judicial Elites on Chinese Immigration from the Late Nineteenth to Early
   Twentieth Centuries" by Jiale "Jack" Zhu (University of Chicago)

The journals are in the process of being packaged and shipped to all
current members of NCAH, who should expect to receive them in the next week
or so, depending on USPS. If you are not up to date on your dues but would
like to ensure you receive a copy of the journal, please visit
www.nchistorians.org/members/join/ to update your status and then email me
at erockwalls at gmail.com. Once I have confirmed with our treasurer that you
are up to date I will make sure a copy is sent to you ASAP. If you are not
sure if you are up to date, please contact our treasurer, Misti Harper at
Misti.Harper at uncp.edu and she can verify your membership status.

Thinking towards next year, I am already accepting submissions for the 2026
edition of the Journal. If you are interested in having your work
published, please send submissions to me at erockwalls at gmail.com.
