[NCAH] NCAH Brewster and Midgette Award Announcement

Greetings colleagues and scholars!

The North Carolina Association of Historians is very pleased to announce
that the 2026 winners of our Brewster Faculty Paper Award and
Midgette Student Paper Award have been selected. Both the Brewster and
Midgette Committees expressed how much they were impressed by this year's
submissions as a whole, and recommended quite a few papers for possible
publication in our annual Journal.

And the winners are......

Brewster Faculty Paper Award: Dr. Heribert von Feilitzsch (UNC -
Greensboro) - *A Case for National Security: The FBI and the IWW*

Midgette Student Paper Award: David Kay (UNC - Greensboro) - *Rivers of
Doubt: Raids, Allegiance, and Freedom-Seeking in Civil War Era North
Carolina, 1862*

Congratulations to our winners! Besides the monetary award, these two
papers will be published in this year's edition of our Journal, pending
peer review.

The Brewster and Midgette Committees sincerely thank all who submitted
papers for consideration! We hope to see most of you again next year at our
2027 NCAH Conference.
